Man did I ever have to blast off the dust from my dormant DA account here….last minute jump in responding to Rayn3r – here goes!

    1.       (Main Event) WINNER   sounds like Tatts never had enough time to get that piece to where he wanted it, was looking like it had some nice textures on the boosters , the buzz reminded me of machine man but I’m betting I’m one of the few who remembers him sadly – TimT totally owned a spot on the top here with the rad  Iron man like armor on old buzz while keeping those Disney colors. Quick look at both these guys galleries reminds me I need to go check them out…some killer thumbnail pics  popping up there I need to check.

    2.       (Co Main Event) WINNER             3 way dance with 2 combatants? Confusing…anyways! With the holiday weekend maybe a good few artists here were short on time and plans changed, with that said I liked Shoze vector plan B – cracking portrait and cool idea to roll him into this poster style, frames the whole thing out nicely. Stinawo I’d agree with the space colors being epic, those were enjoyable but shoze gets it for the spot on likeness here.

    6.       WINNER               I thought Kitty spent more time working on a  unique concept, more time and detail in the retired space suit and the booze gave me a laugh. Orson did a quick recognizable sketch, short on eth time, but felt Kitty put in more this week and deserves the nod for that in this battle and working on new techniques.

    7.       WINNER               although I’m not sure I’d back Lightyear in the xenomorph drag out, I thought this was a great use of a concept and liked the dark theme of it while keeping the humor. Kid had some great shading and fierce pose, lot of nice texutres and grown up take on the character  the lazer blasts were a tad distracting for me, but felt it was a good battle here for sure, came down to concept preference for me.

    8.       WINNER               fraggin’ loved this Pumaboy effort – total nailed the cartoon vibe, got it fresh and not a pure Disney regurgitation. Very slick, well colured, composed. Awesome. Dericules put the work in, and gave a good run but was missing the action it had the potential to bring in.

    11.   WINNER               another 3 way 2 way I see. Too bad the holiday weekend took its casualties on this round. Grapiq’s space marine took me back to the epicness of the odl Warhammer 40K days, the helmet reflection took away a little for me, but I really liked the colors and depth in the spacesuit and background. Opponent had a strong posed piece (very old school Thanos!) but felt Grapiq was a little more polished in the end.

    12.   WINNER               loved the composition here and the inks/shading. Thought it rolled together nicely. Mizz had a great perspective and pose, and put the time in but X had the better composition for me.

Great work in by all, was a pleasure to get to see more great art on a fun theme like this. Cheer’s for the drag back in Mike, was fun.

BBP for me goes to really brings the spirit fo things on BA for me – an epic redesign with a ton of well executed neat ideas. You guys are still killing it.

BB I’d drop to #7 for technical skills vs great concept.

Really feel like my calls here don’t fully give enough props, that piece was great looking would have got BBP if not for Puma having so much action and a nice stylized cartoon vibe.
